One of my favorite hobbies is interior decorating. I probably move or paint items in my home on a daily basis!
Four years ago my husband and I moved into an old 140-year-old Victorian-style home that even included a barn.
Over the last several years I have spent a great deal of my time updating it with a cohesive color scheme, which involved painting the dark kitchen cabinets with five coats of white paint. I know..it was crazy!
In addition, we updated a small bedroom in a Victorian style and also added a cute bathroom, complete with an Old-World-style vanity!
Romantic bedroom with canopy bed, anyone?
Shiplap wallpaper was added to an accent wall in the living room and dining room along with crisp wall colors of SW dove white.
A few years ago, I took a 1-year professional interior decorating course from the New York School of Art and Design. When it was completed, I taught decorating courses as well as art classes in my home studio. It was so much fun! I truly believe that our home environments are incredibly important. My home is light and bright, which provides a calm and serene backdrop for my colorful accents.
We even re-decorated a small reading nook off our kitchen. This area overlooks the barn and is super cozy!
So, please join me on my Victorian porch. Sit awhile and have some sweet, raspberry tea. Relax and enjoy my website and make yourself at home. Thank you for visiting me and stop back again any time!
